Grown at an extreme altitude of 2,700 MASL in the remote highlands of Nariño, Colombia, by Emerson Felipe Narváez Díaz, this lot undergoes a traditional washed process. The coffee cherries are sun-dried on raised beds after an initial 72-hour fermentation, resulting in a vibrant flavour profile with notes of raspberry, lime, and toffee.

The varietal is a unique hybrid we haven't seen before. It originates from traditional Caturra, but taking inspiration from the wine world, Turpial has grafted Gesha onto this root stock. The result is a coffee with the strong roots, resilience, and yields of Caturra, yet the cup quality akin to Gesha—an innovative and exciting development.

I’ve brewed a lot of high-altitude coffees, but this Caturra x Gesha cross at 2700 masl is something else entirely. The anaerobic washed process gives it this wild, clean sweetness that makes every sip feel like a discovery. It’s hands-down my favorite cup this year.

The anaerobic wash really lets the Caturra x Gesha shine through—each cup has this layered sweetness that lingers long after. At 2700 masl, the altitude shows in how dense and complex the brew feels, and I’ve already ordered another bag.
