Yirgacheffe is in Southern Ethiopia, south of the capital city of Addis Ababa and completely situated within the larger area of Sidamo. Despite its small size, Yirgacheffe is highly prized for the quality of the coffee produced there. Producers in the region often cultivate “coffee gardens”, with farms of 0.5-1.5 hectares where they interplant their coffee with other cash crops like bananas.

This Grade 1 Natural lot is grown between 1,950 and 2,100 meters above sea level, and is processed at a the Konga sun-drying station from neighbouring smallholder farms in the Konga village. Grade 1 is the highest quality offered in Ethiopia – as such, only ripe cherries are selected, and they are meticulously sorted to reduce defects. This leads to a vibrant and complex cup with lots of florals, juicy acidity, ripe red fruit and black tea flavours and a perfume-y finish.

Ava V. ★★★★★

The altitude at 1,950-2,100 masl really shows—this natural Yirgacheffe has that dense, syrupy body I crave, and the landrace cultivar gives it a wild, complex edge. I brewed a batch for my morning pour-over and the aroma alone was worth the wait.

Lily ★★★★★

I usually go for washed coffees, but this natural-processed Yirgacheffe from the Wote Konga mill changed my mind—the berry and wine-like depth is incredibly smooth for a high-altitude lot. It brews up rich without being overly fruity, and the 1,950-2,100 masl elevation really shows in the clean fini

Brewed a cup this morning and the natural process really comes through—there’s a clean, fruity brightness that lingers, even as it cools. At this altitude, it’s got that classic Yirgacheffe elegance without being too delicate. The bag lasted me two weeks and every batch was consistent.
