Finca Momoto is a coffee farm named after the beautiful and enigmatic blue-crowned momot, a bird found in the forests surrounding the farm. It is situated at an ideal 1,500 metres above sea level in the pristine wilderness of Santa Clara, Panama. The cool air from the trade winds coming from the Caribbean Sea creates the perfect climate to produce exceptional coffees.

The farm's founders, Luis Miranda and Aliss Hartmann, bring a holistic philosophy to coffee farming, emphasising social responsibility and sustainable practices.

This lot is Panamanian Geisha, a prized variety known for its exceptional quality and complex flavour profile. This coffee is so complex we struggled to condense our tasting notes but expect berries, tropical fruit and floral notes.

Third bag I've ordered from this harvest and the natural process really shines here — the Gesha's florals stay bright but there's a syrupy depth that lingers. Coming from a 1,900 masl lot, I was expecting more acidity, yet it's surprisingly round and juicy.

The fig note in this lot is unmistakable, and the natural process really lets that sweetness carry through to the finish. At this altitude, you get a clean, floral brightness that makes the whole cup feel balanced rather than heavy. I’m already planning my next bag.

This coffee is genuinely special—the natural process at this altitude really brings out that fresh fig sweetness, and it's so juicy and clean in the cup. I brewed a pour-over and the black fruit undertones lingered long after each sip. Definitely worth the splurge.
