Burundi, Giku

The washed Bourbon from Giku Hill is incredibly clean and bright, and the high altitude really shows in its crisp acidity. I brewed it as a pour-over and the cup was so smooth it made my usual morning routine feel special. Definitely the best coffee I've had from Burundi this year.

Opened a bag expecting another generic washed coffee, but the altitude really shows here—it's bright and floral in a way I haven't tasted from the region before. The washed bourbon process gives it such a clean, bright cup, and you can really taste the care that went into harvesting at that altitude. I brewed it as a pour-over and the finish was ridiculously smooth, gone in a few days.
